THE ART OF REAL

Every piece I create starts as a block of basswood and becomes something you’ll do a double-take at. From hats to sneakers to Aloha Shirts, my mission is simple: push the limits of what wood can be.

This isn’t just art. It’s dedication. It’s real.

LOOK CLOSER.

Every piece begins as a block of basswood. Every wrinkle, stitch, crease and shadow is carved entirely by hand.

the Process

START WITH BASSWOOD

Every carving begins as a carefully selected block of premium basswood. Using power tools, hand tools, sanding, and wood burning, the rough block is transformed into the foundation of a lifelike sculpture.

Other wood species available for commissioned work.

Every curve, crease, and contour is meticulously carved by hand. Through hours of shaping, refining, and detailing, the sculpture gradually emerges from the wood with extraordinary realism.

HAND CARVED

Finished with multiple layers of enamel, leather and acrylic paints, each carving is carefully detailed to achieve exceptional depth, texture, and lifelike realism.

HAND PAINTED
ONE OF ONE

Every carving is handcrafted, signed, and completely unique—an original work of art with its own story.

What People Are Saying

“When I first saw the product that Bob created, I didn't think it was real because I had never seen anything like it ever before. After spending some time talking with him, I realized he had a passion for the art pieces he was creating. This passion was important to me and made the pieces that much more special. His works are very special and working with Bob was great from beginning to end."

“My son recently graduated from Purdue University. As a graduation gift idea we chose to have a Purdue hat carved out of wood. I've seen Bob's amazing collections on Instagram, especially the team hats he's created which look just like the real thing! We commissioned Bob to do the work and he was very professional. He provided frequent updates and progress pictures. We were in kind of a rush and Bob delivered exactly when he said he would.

We received the hat which looked amazing. My son was in shock when he saw the carving as he had no idea and was an exact copy of the hat he wore through college. He was amazed how realistic the carving is the real hat.

I recommend Bob if you want a unique gift or other wood working project. We are very happy. Thank you Bob!!!!.”
